BU MET’s resident cybercrime expert and Director of Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Programs Kyung-shick Choi was a co-creation lab speaker at INTERPOL World 2019, July 2–4, in Singapore. Established by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the event’s mission is to establish dialogue and collaboration between public and private sectors globally, in an effort to counter future security and policing challenges.

Dr. Choi’s lab, “Cyber Disruptors & Drivers of Change: What perspectives are there for 2030?” focused on the cyberspace challenges that all governments and organizations must plan for, and how cyber framework and workforce competencies must adapt to the new reality. The session explored how parties can work together to identify the indicators of a possible disruption and counter future attacks, and examined how the advances and convergence of emerging technologies might shape a new era for law enforcement, one where human and machine are tightly coupled together for various activities.
