Dr. Kyung-shick Choi Presents at 2022 German Prevention Congress in Hannover, Germany
In October, Dr. Kyung-shick Choi, made a presentation, “Metaverse & Online Sex Crime Against Children,” at the 2022 German Prevention Congress (formerly German Congress on Crime Prevention) in Hannover, Germany. Over 1,500 people attended in person. Dr. Choi reported that he was able to establish strong ties with juvenile protection experts from Germany, Belgium, Poland and Switzerland.
He also met with the chief public prosecutor at Germany’s main cybercrime center in Frankfurt. The chief extended Choi an invitation to collaborate with the cybercrime division at the law enforcement agency in the Ministry of the Interior (Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat). Since the US Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) recently awarded BU MET a grant to provide Internet Crime Against Children (ICAC) investigation training, Dr. Choi expressed the hope that this international connection would benefit the federal project.
