ABOUT US

The Center for Cybercrime Investigation & Cybersecurity (CIC) is a Boston University(BU) affiliated research center to provide education, training, and policy recommendations related to cybercrime, cybersecurity, and other digital/technological issues. 


The CIC-BU has developed high-quality technical law enforcement training programs, initiatives to prevent child victimization, and education for cyber-investigators. 


The Center is dedicated to facilitating law enforcement agencies around the world use advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics ethically and effectively to combat cybercrime and increase public safety. 


The CIC has partnerships with organizations in over 20 countries worldwide, aiming to bring together multi-disciplines in a global effort to address innovative technologies and emerging concerns in the digital realm.

Main Goals

enforcement training to global audiences

interested in cybercrime and cybersecurity

To become a leader and sustainable source of

scholarship, training, and service in cybercrime
and cybersecurity for both national and

Three specialized units are recognized
within the scope of the Center:
(1) Networking, (2) Research, and

NETWORKING

The Networking unit focuses on bridging the gap

between scholars, practitioners, and policy makers

so that fluid knowledge sharing can occur and

collaboration can be had.

RESEARCH

The main objective of this unit is to heighten
the expertise and proficiency of empirical
and practical knowledge within cybercrime,

while providing a space and
forum for interdisciplinary collaboration.

TRAINING

The Training unit provides simple but clear
guidelines for practitioners, which include
(but are not limited to): law enforcement, specialized practitioners, educators, and policy makers.
